National Medal of Technology Winner

The North America MBE Advisory Board is proud to establish the Young Investigator Award to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the science and technology of MBE or enabled by MBE by the age of 35 and show promise of future leadership in the field. The award shall consist of a plaque and a check of $1,000.
NOMINATIONS

Rules and Eligibility:

        Nominees for the Young Investigator Award can come from university, government or companies using MBE technology from anywhere in the world.  They must have made significant contributions to the science and technology of MBE or enabled by MBE by the age of 35 and show promise of future leadership in the field.  The awardee should be less than 40 at least sometime in the year of the award.  The awardee should have presented the cited work at one or more NAMBE conferences.

Administration:

        The NAMBE Advisory Board will manage the Young Investigator Award. It will be responsible for soliciting and evaluating the nominations and for final selection of the award recipient.


        The purpose of the award, since its inception in 2003, is to recognize individuals whose innovative work has significantly advanced the field of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). It includes a $3,000 honorarium and an engraved plaque. The award, co-sponsored by NAMBE and Veeco Instruments Inc, is presented to its recipient at each NAMBE Conference. NAMBE Advisory Committee members select the organization's winner from the submitted nominations.


Outstanding Student Paper awards

Two Outstanding Student Paper awards shall be selected from papers presented at the annual NAMBE conference meeting by current students.  One paper from each category of oral presentation and poster presentation shall be selected by majority votes of the Award Committee.  The awards will include a plaque and a check of $500.
